Help for riding the big waves of life ...
I am a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist specializing in mood and neuropsychiatric disorders. I bring 26 years of experience from creating and running research programs and clinics at Stanford University in Pediatric Bipolar Disorder and PANS/PANDAS. I also have provided education to medical professionals, patients, and their families nationally and internationally in the form of lectures, CME presentations, and Grand Rounds.
I am currently in private practice offering consultations, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. My goal is to distill what I have learned during my time in academia into an approach that includes considering psychiatric illness as biological, while recognizing psychological input to treatment as important as well. By understanding human brain and psychosocial development, and incorporating latest scientific evidence about how the changing environment affects this development, I provide not only a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan, but also a plan for returning to healthy development and preventing future disorders.
In addition to my clinical practice, I continue to provide CME-type lectures and workshops, and I continue to be involved in research and consultation to organizations such as law firms, pharmaceutical companies, and private foundations. Please email me if you are interested in retaining my services in these areas.
